Plane crashes in Iran, 168 believed killed

A Russian-made Tupolev plane crashed in Iran near Jannat-abad village in Qazvin province at 11:33 am on Wednesday. The aircraft was enroute from Tehran to Yerevan/ Armenia.


A Russian-made Tupolev plane crashed in Iran near Jannat-abad village in Qazvin province at 11:33 am on Wednesday. The aircraft was enroute from Tehran to Yerevan/ Armenia. All on board are “most probably” dead, quoting Qazvin Police Chief Hossein Behzadpour.

The crash site is approximately 90 miles northwest from the capital, Tehran. It was reported that the aircraft exploded on impact creating a hugh crater on the ground.
