On Saturday, we lifted off Providenciales Airport on a local familiarization flight around the island. It was another one of those lovely summer-like days that we experience all year. With Captain Dietrich Peters of TCI Helicopters in command of the Bell 206 helicopter and 2 other local ATCs on board, we set out for what will be etched in my memory as the “Million Dollar Helipoter Ride“.
I was riding shotgun armed with my DSLR camera, with the absolute feeling of euphoria. All kinds of emotions were experienced as we hovered around the Providenciales shoreline absorbing the marvelous views. I was excited to work the radios, as I got to experience the service we provide as air traffic controllers from the vantage point of the cockpit.
After about 30 minutes of flight, we returned to base. A quick check revealed that I had snapped 250+ shots, and am pleased to share some of them here with you. Do enjoy the views, but I must caution you: DO NOT ADJUST YOUR MONITOR, the colours are real.
